Shamrock Shake’s back in the day were my go to treat for the month of March. Back in the day when I ate dairy and fast food, neither of which I do now. Trust me I do miss the day of zipping into the drive through for something fast and convenient to eat or drink, but I don’t miss the food that I used to purchase at fast food places. I’ve learned to plan ahead better, and also have found some alternatives to the golden arches and the man with the crown. I was however watching TV the other day and saw a commercial for the shamrock shake and it brought back memories, good tasting memories.
Thus the creation of a Shamrock Shake that is dairy free and refined sugar-free and even healthy with a little added touch of something extra you won’t find in any golden arches shamrock shake. So if you’re up for a shamrock shake that isn’t loaded with empty calories and are open to one that has some nutrition to it and not packed with sugar than you should give this a try. Besides all that, it is also green naturally so no nasty food dyes required.
Take a minute to whip up this Shamrock Shake for St. Patrick’s day and you won’t feel bad about serving it to your kids because it’s not sugar filled and loaded with dairy. It even could be called a Mint Chocolate chip shake if it isn’t St. Patrick’s day, no matter what you call it, it’s going to become a dessert that will just fit the bill when you are looking for something that doesn’t require buying ice cream or even a dairy free ice cream. Just put your can of coconut milk in the refrigerator for a few hours before or overnight and you’re good to go. It probably would even work if you forgot to do that. So get your blender and get your green on!
