Roasted Garlic can add flavor to a number of dishes. Potatoes, main dishes, salad dressings, dips, soups, the possibilities are limitless, I’ve even heard of Garlic ice cream. Now where I will pass on adding garlic to my ice cream, it is definitely an asset to many dishes on my menu. Whether it’s fresh garlic or roasted you can’t really go wrong on spicing up your menu with it.
Steps on how to Roast Garlic
Step 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Step 2. Take a good size bulb of garlic, and slice off the top. Take several and roast them all at once, saves time and you can store it in a jar in the refrigerator and have it on hand for when you need it.
Step 3. Place several bulbs with the cut side facing up in a small glass baking dish, drizzle about a tablespoon of olive oil into the garlic bulb.
Step 4. Wrap baking dish in foil, so it is snuggly covered.
Step 5. Place in preheated oven and roast for 25-30 minutes. If you can squeeze it, it’s done.
Step 6. Remove foil, and set aside to cool.
Step 7. When cool, hold bulb over a small glass dish or jar that has a lid. Squeeze bulb and let garlic paste fall into glass dish. Allow to finish cooling and cover with lid, store in refrigerator.
Step 8. Add to recipes as desired.
There are so many benefits of Garlic for your health and roasted garlic is just one way to get it into your menu. Garlic can help with a number of ailments, not only is it a natural antibiotic and can help ward off colds and flu’s it can also work against cancer, arthritis and heart disease. Besides all that it can really make you food taste amazing.
